Position Overview:

As a Code-Ed Resource Specialist, you will have the unique opportunity to work with and present Joy Allcock's resources to schools throughout the South Island or the Wellington region. Your expertise will be instrumental in helping teachers understand how these resources deliver high-quality literacy instruction using students' intrinsic knowledge while building teacher knowledge.

Key Responsibilities:

  • You will provide support to Joy Allcock with any professional development initiatives or training in your area, fostering a collaborative environment and helping teachers effectively use Code-Ed resources. Your role will be crucial in collaborating with schools to tailor literacy instruction to meet specific needs, ensuring every student receives the best education possible. Monitor and report the progress and impact of Code-Ed resources in classrooms.
  • Provide classroom feedback that assists in the development of new resources.
  • Participate in workshops, conferences, and professional development events.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's/Master's in Education, Literacy, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in early literacy instruction or a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of the New Zealand Literacy Curriculum and Strategy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with Joy Allcock's resources and methodologies is optional, as full training will be given.
  • Knowledge of literacy approaches and resources currently being used in New Zealand classrooms.
  • Flexibility to travel within the South Island and the Wellington region.
